Community Foundation of Southern Indiana Opens 2026-27 Scholarship Applications

Dozens of scholarship opportunities available to students throughout Clark and Floyd counties

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – After awarding a record 198 individuals scholarships worth $805,000 in student financial assistance last year, the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana (CFSI) is excited to announce the re-opening of its scholarship program for the 2026-27 school year.

Beginning August 10, students throughout Clark, Floyd, and surrounding counties can begin applying for scholarships offered through the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana. The application portal will remain open through Tuesday, Sept. 8. This is the only application period for CFSI scholarships for the 2026-27 academic year.

The Foundation’s scholarship program includes dozens of funds established by individuals, families and organizations who believe in the power of education and want to help local students pursue their goals. Scholarships support students pursuing a wide range of post-secondary opportunities, including traditional college degrees, vocational training and certificates.

“Scholarships can make a meaningful difference in a student’s ability to pursue their educational goals, and we’re fortunate to have so many generous donors who have chosen to invest in local students,” said Linda Speed, CFSI President and CEO. “We encourage students and families to take the time to explore the opportunities available and apply. You never know which scholarship might help make the next step possible.”

Most CFSI scholarships are available to current high school seniors graduating in 2027. However, opportunities are also available for eligible non-traditional students. These include individuals age 25 or older who reside in Clark or Floyd County, have attended college but did not earn a degree, and are returning to an accredited two- or four-year college or university to complete a degree or credential.

The program provides an opportunity for students with a variety of educational goals and backgrounds to seek financial support. In 2025, CFSI awarded more than $805,000 in scholarships, providing critical assistance to students as they pursued higher education.

Students and families can visit www.CFSouthernIndiana.com/scholarships to review the available scholarship opportunities and access the application. Students are encouraged to review the requirements for individual scholarships and begin the application process well before the September 8 deadline.
