Community Foundation of Southern Indiana to Celebrate 35 Years of Impact with ‘Carrying It Forward’ Anniversary Event

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana (CFSI) will celebrate 35 years of philanthropy, partnership, and community impact with Carrying It Forward, a special anniversary event on Thursday, June 11, at The Vista at Origin Park in Clarksville.
The evening will feature a fireside conversation with internationally recognized explorer, author, and Louisville philanthropist Tori Murden McClure, moderated by Angie Fenton of Extol Media. Guests will hear stories from McClure’s groundbreaking journey as the first woman and first American to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean, along with reflections on perseverance, leadership, community support, and philanthropy.
Held at The Vista at Origin Park, the event will also mark one of the first major celebrations hosted at the region’s newest riverfront venue.
“For 35 years, the Community Foundation has worked alongside generous donors, nonprofit partners, and community leaders to address needs, create opportunities, and invest in the long-term strength of Clark and Floyd counties,” said Linda Speed, CFSI President and CEO. “This anniversary is not only a celebration of our Foundation’s history, but of the people and communities we are privileged to serve. We are proud of what has been accomplished together over the past three and a half decades, and we are excited about what we can continue to build for future generations.”
The evening will include hearty hors d’oeuvres and desserts from local favorite Stumler’s Catering, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options, networking opportunities with community and business leaders, and stories highlighting the Foundation’s impact throughout Southern Indiana.
Tickets for Carrying It Forward are $25 per person, with all ticket sales benefiting the Community Impact Fund, which allows the Foundation to respond to emerging opportunities and challenges across Clark and Floyd counties through strategic grantmaking and community investment.
Since its founding in 1991, the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana has awarded more than $78 million dollars in grants and scholarships supporting education, nonprofit organizations, community development, and strategic initiatives throughout Clark and Floyd counties.
