A Lifetime of Giving – Phil and Sandy McCauley

“We believe in this community and we believe in giving back.”

Phil and Sandy McCauley have lived in Southern Indiana for most of their lives. They’ve raised their children here, worked here, and offered their time and resources to help our community grow while strengthening our connections.

“We feel that we’re the beneficiaries of living in a good community. We’re all connected and giving back is our way of supporting a community that has provided so much to us.”

Phil and Sandy volunteer and support a wide range of local nonprofits – Bliss House, Breakaway, CASA, St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Charities, Home of the Innocents – just to name a few. A couple of years ago, Phil and Sandy decided to partner with the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana to help facilitate their giving so they, as Phil put it, can continue “helping those who just need a fighting chance.”

“We partnered with the Community Foundation because they could help us give in a different way. We weren’t making a one-time gift, we made a gift that will continue having an impact on our favorite causes long after we’re gone.”

Like many of our other fundholders, Phil and Sandy were able to partner with the Community Foundation to establish a permanent fund that has simplified their giving and each year grants are made from their fund to support the causes that are important to them.
