An In-Depth Look at Philanthropy in Southern Indiana

Impact – it’s what every nonprofit organization aims to create in their community.

The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana is no different. Our mission is to build enduring charitable resources, which can be used to positively impact our community for generations.

So when we decided to take a look back at our giving over the past 30+ years, we knew that we wanted to showcase the lasting impact our grantmaking has had on Clark and Floyd County residents and communities. And what better to do that than to re-visit past projects and awards to see how our local organizations (and the people they serve) have benefitted from these grants.

In the end, we produced an entire series 12 feature stories, spotlighting nonprofit organizations from all over Kentuckiana that are assisting local residents thanks to grants made by the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana. These amazing groups have worked tirelessly to improve our community, with many of them receiving little to no recognition of the impact they are having in our region.

But we want that to change.

Our hope is that these stories educate and inspire you as you read them. And we hope that it leaves you with inspiration for a better future for all people in Southern Indiana and beyond.
