Arts & Culture – The Louisville Orchestra Workshops

Louisville Orchestra-Assist Grant

When you make a gift to the Foundation’s unrestricted Community Endowment Fund,  you are allowing the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana to make grants to support our area’s greatest needs, like providing arts and culture educational opportunities to young people.

The Louisville Orchestra seeks to enlighten, entertain, and enrich our community through a broad outreach of diverse programs built on the traditions of live orchestra music with a passionate dedication to artistic excellence. Through an Assist Grant made by the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, the Louisville Orchestra, in partnership with the Greater Clark County School Corporation, will bring a professional level of music education to supplement the work of the teachers within the schools. The Orchestra will conduct workshops with the faculty at the middles schools in Clark County, which will introduce students to a variety of new instruments, demonstrate how they work, and give the students an opportunity to play and listen to them. The Orchestra will also work with music educators at the three public high schools to provide Master Class Clinics to students in choral and instrumental groups to help them improve style and technique.
