The Dictionary Project (2007-2013)

This project placed a dictionary in the hands of every third grader in Clark and Floyd counties. The project was funded by the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana and a non-profit organization called The Dictionary Project. The program started in 1992 when a woman in Savannah, Ga., gave 50 dictionaries to students at a school near her home. In Southern Indiana, the project started in 2009, and was funded through 2013.
