The following is a list of the Spring 2008 grant recipients and their projects.
Floyd County
Graceland Baptist Church was awarded $750 to be used for its Family Fun Fest which is a FREE, fun filled event presented on the last Saturday in October each year by the Community Ministry of Graceland Baptist Church for both children and families of the Kentuckiana area, while at the same time benefiting the DARE TO CARE Community Food Bank.
S.U.R.F. Board (Students United Radically for Floyd County) was awarded $1000 to be used for insurance policies and expenses for middle school/high school aged dances and pipeline parties hosted by the high-school age youth led group.
St. John Presbyterian Church was awarded $1000 to be used to fund Wednesday Night Live, a program to provide support, empowerment, boundaries and expectations, and constructive use of time to youth in the S. Ellen Jones neighborhood.
Regional Youth Services was awarded $1000 to be used for a distance mentoring program which allows for youth to delve into career exploration while developing adult relationships resulting in real-life skill acquisition.
Mt. Tabor Elementary School, 3rd GradeExcel Students was awarded $700 to be used to provide service to "Letty Walter Park" in Floyds Knobs, Indiana and plant wildflowers and trees around a body of water to stop the water from “swishing” out.
St. Paul's Elementary - 4th Grade Class was awarded $795 to be used to provide funds to pay the admission fee for all students and to offset the cost of transportation to Junior Acheievement.
Clark County
Clarksville Sister Cities Association was awarded $500 to be used for an exchange program through the Clarksville Sister Cities. CSC sponsors an exchange of high school students from Southern Indiana and our Sister City in France; La Garenne-Colombes, France. The French students visit our area in October, and students from this area visit France during Spring Break.
Clark County Sellersburg United Methodist Church was awarded $500 to be used for Self Esteem Makeover. The program will accept 50 girls, ages 6-11 years old, in the Sellersburg area to go through a Self-Esteem Makeover. We will give them principles and guidelines to improving their self-esteem and self-worth.
Clark County Historical Society/Howard Steamboat Museum was awarded $500 to be used for a program where youth will interview adults about experiences related to steamboat history, create a script from interviews and research, and perform during the museum's Spring Festival.
Boy Scouts of America was awarded $500 to be used for an Eagle Scout Project. The scout plans to replace the split cedar fencing and the four gardens in front of the Deams Lake Nature Center, as well as placing an identification sign out in front of the nature center.
Regional Youth Services, Inc. was awarded $500 to be used for a distance mentoring project which allows for youth to delve into career exploration while devleoping health adult relationships in real-life skill acquisition.
Harrison County
Boys and Girls Clubs of Harrison County was awarded $500 to be used by the Youth Council to provide the Harrison Health and Rehab with a "senior" prom by providing them with food, fun and entertainment.

Blue River All Stars 4-H Club was awarded $500 to be used for the growth of the annual Carnival for Cancer (which raised over $13,000.00 in 2007) this requires additional equipment including light, sound and signage.
Leadership Harrison County was awarded $500 to be used to educate and develop youth on servant leadership, community awareness and involvement, and to encourage and present opportunities in community service projects through volunteerism.
