The Jeffersonville Carnegie Library Foundation supports the restoration and maintenance of the Jeffersonville Carnegie Library. The 1904 Beaux-Arts building was originally designed by Jeffersonville native Arthur Loomis and operated as a library. It was acquired by the Jeffersonville Carnegie Library Foundation in 2003. Carnegie libraries are named for their benefactor, wealthy steel and railroad magnate Andrew Carnegie, who funded 1,679 libraries across the country.
JCLF is currently seeking tenants for the building, which has 7,500 square feet of space. Please contact Robyn Davis Sekula at (812) 981-8223 or robynsekula@sbcglobal.net if you’d like more information.
